I Like Being Naked

These are some of the negative statements a nude photo gets when posted on social media. All maybe true. But what is it about nudity that makes us feel uncomfortable? Is it because most of us was brought up with certain amount of morals, that teaches us a naked body, especially displayed to the public is wrong? That a person that does this have some kind of history in their background that compels them to seek attention in this manner? My seven year old grandson comes home every day and takes all his clothes off down to his under wear. After observing this a few times I asked him why do he do this. His reply was "I don't like clothes, I like being naked, it's comfortable.

Most artists that paint a nude body; most photographers that shoots a nude body; most filmmakers that video nude bodies; most models and actors that display their nude bodies, will tell you they are comfortable with nudity. And for them it's a form of self expression. Most women will tell you it's liberating. We can debate that some of these women may have experienced some sort of abuse when they were growing up, however that's not necessarily always the case. You will find that most women that have experience some kind of abuse, shy away from practices like these, unless of course they are seeking a quick and easy salary. But that can be the case for anyone.

Women have always fought for the freedom to be expressive with their bodies. To be masters and have a choice to do what they want with their bodies. The "Go Topless movement", have gain grounds in recent years. Rael, founder of GoTopless.org and spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement (rael.org) says; "As long as men are allowed to be topless in public, women should have the same constitutional right. Or else, men should have to wear something to hide their chests".

Topless and complete nudity is two different things however. From the beginning of time artists have been enchanted with the nude body. The nude first became significant in the art of ancient Greece, where athletic competitions at religious festivals celebrated the human body, particularly the male, in an unparalleled way.

The ancestry of the female nude is distinct from the male. Where the latter originates in the perfect human athlete, the former embodies the divinity of procreation. The nude in western art have changed however with women fleshed out in the nude with narrative and erotic possibilities.

Some people feel that the nude form is something that should be hidden away both in art and the artist's classroom. Although this may seem at first like a mere annoyance, such people frequently attempt to stop others from viewing or learning from the human form, thereby infringing on their rights to create and consume art as they wish. Viewing the nude body can make some uncomfortable. Most photographers will tell you their depiction of nudity are meant to stir the mind as well as the viewer passions. Nudity in art can either be your virtue or your vice.
