BCF Biggest Belizean Day 2 Festival

Hollywood, CA - HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY BELIZE!!!!
On September 18, 2016, Belize Cultural Foundation (BCF) produced their 15th Belize Independence Day Festival at a new venue. The event have been held at Hollywood Park Casino since its inception in 2001. Due to new changes at the Inglewood venue BCF was forced to relocate.
The first venue chosen, in downtown Los Angles had a scheduling conflict so they helped BCF with booking AVALON-Hollywood. AVALON is one of Hollywood’s most historic landmarks. From The Beatles first West Coast performance in 1964 to ABC’s hit television variety show The Hollywood Palaceto Sasha’s first West Coast DJ residency, the theater at Hollywood & Vine has been a show business epicenter since opening in 1927.
Belizeans pack the venue with their flags and garb on Sunday September 18 and the revolution was in order. The headliner was none other than Belize own dynamic and electrifying performer Lova Boy. The show started with Michael Navarette, "the Preachaman", and continued with Guwie Posse, a cultural band from Los Angeles. Also appearing was the Dominators Band, Roy da Drumma with 501 Band, Tropical Sensation Band, Roxanna Alcoser direct from Belize, legendary Aziatic, the original Son of Hopkins, and the international star El Jai. The event was hosted by no other, Master of Ceremony Fred Dixon with the help of Norman "MistaTwin" Straughan.
Reviews about the venue, the performers and the show itself was all positive. While DJ Money kept the crowd in a festive mood inside the venue, outside DJ Kool Gwaf Howard entertain the crowd and vendors selling food, arts and craft in the overflow area, where all was in a celebratory mood.
This year 35th Independence theme was "Sovereign & Strong, Together As One." I must say BCF exemplified this on September 18.
